“For Playful Manners” is a new label run by Raquel Rivera-Lys aka Adi from Colombia and Basic Moves head honcho Michiel Claus aka Walrus from Brussels. Dreamt up spontaneously during a shared afternoon of listening to music in Berlin, the label’s manners centre on the feelings of friendship and fun in music, though its feet are always itching for the dancefloor and its various scenarios, while its head is turned firmly towards the future. Crisp music is the message every time, with each split EP also thoughtfully balanced: male/female, machine/soul, robot/alien, flower/tree... The artwork takes the form of a puzzle, which has to be solved to discover the tracks and their makers. Let’s play!

Within Reason Records welcomes Hugh Mane to the fold with a four track EP that is his most polished work to date. Veering away from his usual club ready sound, Hugh takes a much more relaxed approach on 'Resonant Moods', choosing to focus on meticulous production techniques and textural layering to create an EP that transcends both time and space. Often the case with Hugh's music, you can be 6 minutes into a track and not know that any time has passed at all. 'Resonant Moods' is a wonderfully crafted EP that encapsulates emotive tonality and playful rhythms, whilst oozing spacious sub frequencies.

Prague based FM Label connects music, fashion and design. Established in 2020 by Milan Fatrla, label joins the flourishing scene of Prague with a vision of a music, in which the new revisits the old. A vision where strongly-rooted love for hip-hop merges with passion for everything electronic and danceable, to offer records where these two genres meet and reconnect. With its modular attitude, FM Label plays with norms of record sleeve design and fashion. In its first phase the label will put out three trilogies, each trilogy in a different package developed with local designers and artists. The first release sees an exciting mix of Germany's Rat Life Records head honcho Credit 00, and LA's Eight-Oh-Eight monarch Egyptian Lover. Super Scratch EP comes in a special cardboard sleeve which can be reshaped into a vinyl display holder.

Following her solo debut Focus in 2017, Conservatory of Flowers focuses on rhythm and percussive elements, cutting down ambient passages and leaning even more toward traditional song forms, structuring compositions into pop-length pieces. Recorded over a period of three years, mostly composed during one summer at her dacha (cottage in Russian) just outside of Moscow, resulting in a vibrant and light sound inspired by her surrounding nature. In addition to analog synthesizer, the album also features Nikita Shishkov on trumpet, Vasiliy Yanik on saxophone, Yana Chekina on cello, Sasha Elina on flute and Vadik Korolev on vocals, with the album closing off with a remix by Sapphire Slows.
It’s the turn of AM/PM to bring some drama to What About Never, ushering in an ‘Age of Distraction’ with an EP of dark, pulsating techno, brittle dub polyrhythms and nebulous ambience.'Dance for Me’ takes the lead, locking into a propulsive, strobing groove, rolling out tension that ebbs and flows before the alien stepper, ‘Nobody Knows Anything’ shifts the tone. The mood changes further over the sparse, chattering, electronic fusion of the title track, before melting into the gaseous, ambient coda, ‘Now’s the Time’.
