Maara’s latest effort comes straight from the inner zone. Whether meant for use as vision quest guidance or club hedonism, Fancy Feast continues the Canadian’s tradition of crafting seductive, trance-inducing dance music in mesmeric fashion.

‘Can’t Slo Down’ is a vehicle for transcendence. Locked-in, hypnotic fare with subtle gear shifts consistent with Maara’s propensity towards trippy atmospherics and urgent dancefloor dynamics. Then, in a heady alloy of ritual throb and fractal warehouse ruffness, ‘Highrollerz’ finds Maara at her most propulsive.

Prog reigns supreme across the record, but 'Princess Express' has the third-eye dilating magick in full effect. It’s both fractal and functional, a ritual incantation with rugged appeal. ‘Rude, Crude & Out Of Control’, on the other hand, harks back to those halcyon days of the free party movement. Proper breakbeat torque with yet another healthy dose of prog.

Marie Davidson’s new album turns the mirror on herself. "Working Class Woman” - released on 5th October on Ninja Tune - is the Montreal-based producer’s fourth and most self-reflective record: it’s a document of her state of mind, of operating within the spheres of dance music and club culture. Drawing on those experiences, as well as an array of writers, thinkers and filmmakers who’ve influenced her, Davidson’s response to such difficult moments is to explore her own reaction to them and poke fun. “It comes from my brain, through my own experiences: the suffering and the humour, the fun and the darkness to be Marie Davidson.” It’s an honest document of where she currently stands. As she puts it, “It’s an egotistical album – and I’m okay with that.”
A passion project from two really great friends... the packaging is as much part of the experience as the music and story behind this album. Limited run of 50 copies cut in house by Personal Touch. From the label:Unifying form and function and the dissolution of excess. The seamless integration of materials sourced within the setting, finding freedom within constraint, and designed for the masses. Usonian Automatic was recorded in a home built upon Frank Lloyd Wright’s principles, conceived and designed by his former student, James W. Strutt. Life in such a house exacts the instinct to harmonize its wood, brick, and geometry with the emanating electric sound of a speaker. Marrying the guitars to vinyl archived, cut, and laced into the available frequencies expresses our interpretation of the listening experience, revolving around the hearth. These are the Usonian fundamentals we have borrowed and built upon.
Russian Producer Volta Cab presents himself i n MM Discos with Balearic Balsam EP, a record that explores the borders of the sound that was born i n the white island, blending it with a “new-wave” oriented vibe. On the A side, Saint Petersburg based producer, shows us what he likes the most partying obscure rhythms with summery-soothing atmospheres. “Shujumi'’ plays along with more ethnic and oriental sounds while “Balearic Balsam” gets highly influenced by t he 80’s new wave. On the B side, the talented Greek producer “Anatolian Weapons” takes over the control by remixing Shujumi, he twists the original track and adds different acid elements building a perfect 4x4 killer straight to your brain. Volta Cab finishes the EP with “Vedic Space Vehicle”, getting a l ittle darker than the previous tracks on the A side but without changing the vibe, delivering an excellent new-age-elektro rooted anthem.
