Sopratutto by Nicolini on South of North.

Nicolini is back with the next installment of stripped-down drum workouts and sound system madness. Spread across seven tracks and as many tempos, the dutch multi-instrumentalist and producer veers effortlessly between looped-up sax riffs (with a Twin Peaks ambience), dubby wave, mutant dancehall, low-slung steppers and manic 180 bpm experiments. Along with guest appearances from Nushin Naini and Martha de Barros, Sopratutto is an adventure through bass cones above and beyond what Nicolini has laid down before. "

Intrinsic Rhythm is proud to welcome and release a new record by Westcoast Goddess. The enigmatic producer provides 4 r&b flecked sample led tracks which borrow and take influence from the classic machine soul from Chicago, Detroit and NY. The EP kicks off with the musically rich " Fallin' " which uses melody and emotive machine and sample programming to welcome you to a brilliantly unique record. The title track " Time 4 Change " takes a classic tactile Chicago groove and concocts a deep hybrid of strings, evocative synth and vocal sample programming to take the listener and dancefloor to a deeper level. " Change Is Comin' " is next and takes influence from classic Gospel house music and uses classic drum machine programming combined with a chord driven lead to create a mesmerising twist on machine soul. Finally "One O' These Days" uses Boogie. New Jack Swing and Deep House variations to bring the listener through a classic song structure which builds from beginning to end.
The Book Room is Kilchhofer's musical diary, it's his library of emotions. It's a fairytale, an imaginary place shaped by exotic cultures, an escape from modern society, a collage of real and imagined experiences. You can hear influences abstracted from a wide number of musical approaches: the story-telling nature of folklor music, naive and conflicting rhythms of tribal drums, melodies and pads reminiscent of classical minimalism and microtonal experimental music, the freeform approach of early electronic music and krautrock, and buried deep within the tracks some hints of hedonistic dance and club music.
